The inventory of homes for sale is finally rising. Buyers aren鈥檛 interested. The U.S. housing market had nearly a half million more sellers than buyers in April, the biggest such gap on record in seasonally adjusted data going back to 2013, according to an analysis by real-estate brokerage Redfin.

Mark Diamond has been sentenced to 17 years in federal prison for his crimes against elderly homeowners, but the scars from the damage he inflicted across the Chicago metro area are still visible. A recent report from a local publication, the South Side Weekly, detailed one family鈥檚 struggle to recover from Diamond鈥檚 scams. Louise Minter was tricked into taking out a reverse mortgage and had her home equity drained, something Diamond did to 鈥渕ore than 100 elderly and vulnerable homeowners鈥� as far back as 2003, federal prosecutors and housing officials said after his sentencing in January.

Single-lot buyers bought at least 129 parcels. The Southern 博鱼体育集团 News Group was unable to identify the buyers of eight lots.
